8 Wedding Apps Couples Are Using
As important as it is to make sure your professional website is wedding day photo-perfect, it’s also important that you make sure you know where else brides and grooms are going, technology-wise.
Like it or not, apps aren’t going anywhere, and it’s possibly even more evident in the wedding industry, where app creators have seen an opportunity to make big bucks.
As a wedding professional, it’s probable that you’ve heard of—or even used—one or a few of these apps yourself. And even if you’ve never heard of one or the other, jump on board and check ‘em out.
A few app creators will let you trial them for free and some, like Zola, are completely free anyway.
The upshot is that it’s worth your while as a professional to know what your clients are doing and using.
Here are eight popular apps worth checking out:
WeddingHappy
WeddingHappy wedding planner takes the place of a real, human wedding planner.
The app allows brides (and grooms) to stay on track by following WeddingHappy’s timeline, including tasks and vendor information. It includes a wedding day countdown, payment tracking, spending summary, vendor management, help with finding wedding professionals (you!), etc.
Appy Couple
Appy Couple does it all, from event scheduling, managing guest lists and RSVPs, photo sharing, travel planning, etc.
Designed to look sleek and chic, guests can take part in one-to-one settings for viewing, sharing and posting; also, notifications and alerts ensure that all guests are aware of any updates to the wedding location, rehearsal dinner finalization or overall schedule.
The Knot Wedding Planner
The Knot Wedding Planner does everything from tracking guests to giving venue and vendor suggestions (there are 250,000-plus!), and also lays out a task list to check off as well as offers a guest list manager and photo-sharing capabilities.
In addition, it provides 50,000 ideas for clients’ weddings and accommodates budgets and styles as well. Your clients are undoubtedly creating their wedding websites here, too, and syncing everything with theknot.com. Checklists reign supreme on The Knot app.
The Wedding LookBook
The Wedding LookBook, also by The Knot, is for finding the perfect dress (and the wedding dress salons which carry those particular styles—is your bridal shop on there?) and the app also serves as a tool for finding accessories, wedding rings, engagement rings, bridesmaid dresses and more.
Also, the coolest feature is that customers can send messages directly to shops to request appointments. I’m sure, as a wedding professional, you’re interested in checking those out!
Pinterest. Nuff said. If you aren’t familiar with Pinterest, get your head out of the sand. Your clients definitely know about it—and are drawn to it like moths to flames.
Wedding Planner
Wedding Planner by WeddingWire also offers a vendor search with wedding vendor reviews (don’t pretend you’re not checking your bridal shop out right now—Ha!) as well as a wedding checklist, wedding countdown, wedding budget tracker, photo gallery for inspiration, community forums, and also syncs with weddingwire.com.
TopTablePlanner
TopTablePlanner is an app that helps arrange wedding seating plans and includes an easy-peasy ability to manage RSVPs and guests’ meal preferences. It works on any device (PC, Mac, iPad and smart phone) and takes just minutes to drag and drop wedding guests and tables to create a great seating plan. It’s also possible to share plans with others.
Zola Wedding Registry
Zola Wedding Registry enables brides and grooms to ask for gifts, experiences and funds all in one place. Zola lets clients know when an item has been purchased, and couples can send now, later or trade it in for something else they’d rather have.
In addition, couples can denote group gifting for larger or more expensive items so multiple friends or family members can contribute.
There’s nothing more clients appreciate than interacting with you, a wedding professional, when you have your proverbial act together.
If you’re excellent at knowing absolutely everything about your industry, plus you’re super-savvy about other things that Appy Couples might want, the relationships you’ll build with your clients will be that much more satisfying for them—and you.
Good luck and happy app uploading!
